When: Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th The Spring Rail Festival runs from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Train rides start Saturday at 11 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.

Where: Orange Empire Railway Museum, 2201 South A Street, Perris

Price: Ages 12 and up, $15; ages five to 11, $10; and ages 4 and under are free. Operating a real locomotive is $20 extra. Admission is free to Orange Empire Railway Museum members.

The annual Spring Rail Festival will offer families and rail enthusiasts plenty to do and see at the 100-acre railway park in the heart of Southern California.

Ride trolleys, electric-powered locomotives and steam trains all day. Get behind the throttle of a railroad locomotive under an instructor's supervision. Enjoy live bluegrass music, food vendors and special train exhibits. Take the kids for a ride on a hand car. See a railroad exhibit presented by Knott's Berry Farm. Crown Fire Coach Enthusiasts will display vintage fire engines. Join your children and "pump" the trucks!

KOALA KID AT LA ZOO

In celebration of the release of the DVD Release of Koala Kid the LA Zoo had a special screening along with a private tour of the Koala exhibit.

Guests were able to have a Q&A with one of the Zookeepers at the LA Zoo.

And a chance to interview Jenni Pulos (voice of Charlotte in the film and star of Bravo's hit TV show, Flipping Out)

Unfortunately I was not able to attend this event :( So what is the movie about?

Koala Kid

Johnny (Schneider) is a rare white koala bear who just wants to fit in and make friends. CASTLE PARK - RIVERSIDE

Last spring and summer we went to Castle Park in Riverside. Check out our posts below

We went to Castle Park and I was really surprised at how many rides my preschooler could get on! It was great to see a lots of shady areas and places to sit while my preschooler got on the rides.

Out of 27 rides 11 of them he could ride alone and 9 of them he could ride with a partner.

Loved seeing my son run around from ride to ride.

His favorites...

Crazy Plane - A kid-sized plane (adults can ride too)....rode 3 times!

Castle Park Railroad - a 15 minute ride around the park

Antique Car Ride - cute setting....he rode this about 6 TIMES!!!! He loved it. We came back to this ride later to ride over and over again. Saw some other kids that we had seen early re-riding also!

They have a beautiful Merry-Go-Round that both kids and adults love!

He didn't build up his courage to go on Log Ride, but he now says that next time we go that he wants to get on.

I went to Buccaneer Cove at Castle Park, Riverside (it is discounted on Mondays). We have previously went to Castle Park to enjoy the rides last winter and had seen glimpses of Buccaneer Cove. My son so wanted to go in and explore. Finally our patience paid off when the weather started getting warmer.

Buccaneer Cove is like a giant playground with water.

It was 5 water slides,

My son was able to ride all of them, (42") but was intimidated by the tunnel one! Maybe next time!

My son loved the water shooters and getting me wet!

There are plenty of chairs to lay out and relax...some of them have shade, and if you would like you can rent a cabana.

We had such a great time....my son asked me after we left, mom we need to explore some more, they have GOLFING! Maybe next time!

I liked this one! you can turn the wheel and the "umbrella" turns!

My son loved running through this!
