Hansel and Gretel and their father Fritz overcome the death of their mother and are graciously consoled by the beautiful Rosie. Rosie's Mother has other plans for her and decides to marry her other daughter, the nasty Petunia, to Fritz! Petunia's hatred towards children causes her to take Hansel and Gretel deep into the dark forest where she tries to get rid of them once and for all.  On their first venture into the woods, Hansel and Gretel are saved by the spool of yarn they unwind through the woods. On the second journey into the woods, they were lead safely back home by the glowing moon-shine stones of the river. But the third time they enter the woods, the birds and squirrels eat the trail of bread-crumbs they were planning to follow home. This is when Hansel and Gretel happen upon the enchanted Candy House of the Wicked Witch!  Hansel's greedy and hungry behavior causes him to be locked up in the candy cage, waiting to become the Witch's dinner!  Will Gretel be able to trick the witch and will the children ever find their way back home?  Find out in this delicious fairytale adventure!

A Faery Hunt - March 26th at Griffith Park

A Faery Hunt
When:  Saturday, March 26th.  All shows start promptly at 10:30am

Where:  Fern Dell Place, Griffith Park

Price $15 per person, Children 23 months and under are FREE

Winner of the Nickelodeon's Parents' Pick Award for "Best Children's Theater in Los Angeles," and named "Best of LA" by LA Parent and Los Angeles Magazines, now in its 7th year, the critically acclaimed "A Faery Hunt" is one of the most loved family shows in Los Angeles. The original tales carry simple but often forgotten life-messages including kindness, forgiveness, respect for nature, and tolerance. With the help of the faery folke, the children embark on an exciting adventure to assist the faeries on a quest for the Faery Royalty. In a gentle and fun way, the audience actually become part of the story. The shows are for children, boys and girls, and the young-at-heart. Most of the children come in costume -- it is not required faery fun. There is something in the show for the whole family -- beautiful faeries for the girls, action scenes for the boys and topical humor for the parents. Groups and birthday parties are welcomed. www.afaeryhunt.com 818-324-6802.

ArtsPower’s Madeline and the Bad Hat, an original musical based upon the much-loved book, captures the blithe yet touching spirit of Ludwig Bemelmans’ Madeline series. It traces the adventures of a young Parisian girl who – despite starting off on the wrong foot with a mischievous new neighbor – eventually learns that first impressions aren’t everything.

When one fine day the Spanish Ambassador moves into the house next door, Madeline and Miss Clavel and the other girls quickly discover that his son Pepito is a true horror! Rude and conceited, Pepito seems at first to be nothing but trouble. But when he unexpectedly finds himself in real danger, it’s up to the resourceful Madeline to get him out of it. Can she teach Pepito a lesson into the bargain, and does he have a hidden good side after all? This gently amusing tale of enemies-become-friends will charm and entertain children and parents alike.
